Chapter Philanthropy and Service
At the core of Zeta Tau Alpha is our philanthropy: breast cancer education and awareness. In October, Breast Cancer Awareness month, we put on a large-scale fundraising event, Big Man on Campus. In this, different members of fraternities on campus compete in a "male pageant" to determine who is the "Big Man on Campus." Leading up to this, we host a "Think Pink Week" where we give out pink lemonade, cupcakes, ribbons, and more! Zeta hosts Pink Out games with the Baylor athletic department at a volleyball game in October and varying sports games in the Fall. Both the players and audience members dress in pink during the game. In the past our chapter of Zeta has held a golf tournament each spring called the Crown Masters to raise money for our philanthropy. In the spring, we host in Cupcakes for a Cure, a bake sale fundraiser!
Outside of our own philanthropy, Zeta is dedicated to community outreach in Waco, one of the most impoverished cities in the nation. Each semester, we participate in All-University Steppin' Out where the entirety of the Baylor community gives up a Saturday to help Waco natives who require assistance, generally in the form of painting or clearing out trash. Our new members also volunteer at Caritas food bank during the new member period each year!
